tacoma, wa - june 23, 2005 .
a life too short, but lived in full .
which of those 20 posibbilies does seem the most logical for the end of the world?
natural disasters
1. asteroid impact.
The end of the world is different for everybody, depending on how we all die.
Death is the end of the world.
I'm trying not to have it happen like that, but according to my family history, the end of my world will come in the form of a stroke or a heart attack.
Thus far, I've lived quite well. So, bring it on!

i've been thinking about this for a little while and it appears that this is a possibility.
although i cant say that there is solid evidence, it looks as if the clues are there:.
- clandestine involvement with the un as an ngo.
The WBTS is a religious BUSINESS. Lead by imperfect men. Similar to many other Christian religions.

for example: we had a 'faithfull' brother getting older and confused.
when something did not really went as he liked it (didn't get the answer etc) he shouted very loudly 'god doom me in the hell!
one time i had to do the closing prayer on the midweek meeting.
One of these days, while at the Service meeting, I was really tired plus bored out of my mind and a yawn came out really loud and many people turned their heads and gave me wicked stares.
Sorry!!! I didn't think it'd come out so loud. I caught some laughing, though, as if I had read their minds.

cons.
i don't know who is scarier, the jw's or some people on this board.
man, r u guys bitter?
have you ever noticed someone who has a 1000 yard (meters for you english types.
well i keep noticing that dub women in particular have this creepy 1000 yard stare.
and then a while after my wife got dunked she and the kids got in one of those picture booths.
Nope! It's just you.
Of all the congregations where I've attended, I can recall perhaps 1 or 2 with that kind of 'pop-eyed' look about them.
Nothing to do with being a JW, though.

i was curious to see if i knew anyone that would post on a jw dating site so i checked out jw connections that is linked to on this page.
i did not find anyone i know but i was kinda shocked to see the number of ones there that were "divorced, but free to marry".
is this a big problem now or is it just that more divorced jw's use the web to find "mates".
Divorce and legal separation are of rampant epidemic proportions within the WBTS these days.
Women aren't putting up with much anymore as they've become less dependent on a man to support them.
Just a couple of weeks ago, a regular pioneer and an elder (both lost their privileges now) of many years of marriage and many years serving with such titles decided to go their separate ways. Both seemingly nice people! Then again, who the heck knows what really goes on behind closed doors. So sad for their children!

.
when i read some of the posts i cant help wondering that things do not go always the same everywhere.

Hispanic JWs are much more warm and into family values. By far, the clickiest of JWs I've ever known! Like a very close knit family of sorts.
I notice, at least in the areas where I've lived here in the USA, that the American (anglo saxon) congregations seem very cold and distant. Excellent for fading!

next week, due to his recently learned so called knowledge of psychiatry and medication??
and bashing of those that use it?.

I plan on going to the movies and seeing this movie, regardless of my disagreement with his views on psychology and his publicity driven relationship with Ms. Holmes.
If I was to disagree with the point of view of the many different artists or their life style, I'd for sure not ever go to the movies!

Smelly Onions,
You are so right!!!!!!!!!
Most of my relatives are JWs and are among the nicest people I know. Like you, I really appreciate the morals and self-discipline learned while growing up a JW.
Hang around here and don't leave because some ask you to. I need more kindred spirits that share my views. And you're right about finding out juicy stuff. I already know the name of the publication coming out in the assembly and I haven't even attended yet! How cool is that?!
There are many of us here that know the WBTS is only a religious/man-made/business-like organization and just like any other organization will have its good and bad. Some will accentuate the possitive and some the negative.
That's the way life goes!!!
Be well.
